This role is home-based and requires domestic travel on a regular basis. Relocation will not be required unless the candidate lives in a remote location, which makes travel to most of our locations difficult.Our TeamGeorgia-Pacific is recruiting for a leadership position to join our Manufacturing Advancement Group (central technical support group) leading the Paper Center of Excellence Team.What You Will DoApplication of Principled Base Management (PBM) philosophyBuild and develop a results driven team of subject matter experts focused on the following:Building relationships with key site personnelProviding feedback to key leaders on site level talent capabilityExecuting process assessments and supporting the site teams to close gapsAccessing technology gaps and supporting sites with strategy development plans including economicsSupporting sites with immediate issue resolutionSupport the investment strategy development and execution across the packaging and cellulose sites.Leverage other support capabilities to achieve results faster and sustain them over time. An example would be how we leverage our data analytics and remote process engineering teams to identify and close gaps versus our traditional methods. Ensure teams are connected to business and asset performance trends and associated value of each to prioritize strategies and actionsEffectively leverage all available resources (e.g., other capabilities, site personnel, etc.) to achieve positive work-life balance for the team.Leverage and encourage the growth of the knowledge networks among the facility paper makers and external SMEs. Drive best practices and profitable standardization across the group.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing role(s) supporting paper making operationsA minimum of 10 years of experience effectively leading, communicating with, and mentoring others in a manufacturing environmentAbility to travel up to 60% of the time (including occasional travel on weekends and holidays)What Will Put You AheadBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science or Technical degreeArea or Business unit level management experienceExperience driving results across multiple sites and processes beyond paperExperience building and developing teams that drive results across multiple areas or sitesFor this role, we anticipate paying $195k - $225k per year.
